PLGA Foundation, Inc.

 Founded in the middle 1990’s to ensure that future generations of golfers continue to enjoy the fruits of the public game that has so enriched our members’ lives, the PLGA Foundation, Inc. is the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of the Public Links Golf Association.
Governed by an independent all volunteer Board of Directors, it dedicates 100% of its resources to its twofold mission of supporting existing junior golf programs / organizations that bring the benefits of the game of golf to young persons who would otherwise never have such an opportunity and writing grants to assist in the development of new programs / organizations that bring those benefits to young persons from neighborhoods and backgrounds not traditionally associated with golf.
In support of that mission the PLGA Foundation granted more than $50,000.00 to the following programs, organizations and events in 2007:

- Los Angeles County / Public Links Junior Championship Series (Title Sponsor)
- CIF Southern Section Boys Golf Team Regional Qualifier at Lakewood Golf Course (Sole Sponsor)
- CIF Southern Section Girls Individual Qualifier at Diamond Bar Golf Course (Sole Sponsor)
- Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce (LAJCC) Urban Youth Golf Program at Hansen Dam Golf Course in Pacoima (Sole Sponsor)
- Long Beach Junior Golf Association ($5,000.00 grant for new programming)
- City of Los Angeles Junior Golf Championship
- Los Angeles County Junior Golf Foundation
- Knabe Cup (Boys & Girls)
- 1st Tee of Los Angeles
- Association Membership Program (Free Membership Services for All Junior Members)

All of this is made possible by the generosity of the individuals, golf clubs, and corporations that support the Foundation with their tax deductible contributions. This includes a number of the Association’s member golf clubs as well as some rather significant corporate support.
|
 Among the Foundation’s most generous corporate contributors are Alliance Bank, which donates a hefty portion of the proceeds of its own charitable golf tournament every year, APV Manufacturing & Engineering, and Snak Club. But contributions, whether large or small, are the lifeblood of the Foundation’s capacity to extend the reach of our great game to all corners of Southern California.
